...we have worked with a tutoring company for the ACT, SAT, SSAT, and ISEE tests. [Can you spell S-T-R-E-S-S?]... Choice Tutoring has provided valuable guidance and test prep for both my daughters, and I highly recommend the company. We personally have been paired with Amish Shah [the owner; fabulous], but the friends who recommended the company to me were paired with other tutors with whom they were also very pleased. Choice Tutoring does not advertise, but instead relies on word-of-mouth publicity. Because I am impressed with the services and the people, I thought I would share the information with friends who are or soon will be in the throes of various school applications and standardized testing. [Choice does regular school subject tutoring too, of course.]

I came to Choice Tutoring as a student needing help in chemistry. My tutor from Choice guaranteed I completely understood the lesson. He went so far as to model questions being asked. I also worked with a second tutor who was outstanding. Then the summer before my senior year came he helped me boost my SAT's scores over 200 points! The tutors at choice tutoring always make sure you are prepared or ahead in your classes. They are knowledgeable of the subject matter and very easy to work with.

Our family highly recommends Choice Tutoring for college admission tests and for help in reinforcing school work. A counselor at our son's school recommend Choice Tutoring for our, at the time, Sophomore... Choice had him take both the ACT and SAT to first determine which test was better suited for him. They determined that Andrew should focus on the ACT test. He then spent several months working with Amish Shah and others at Choice. He would meet at their facilities on Richmond once a week and complete homework on his own time. Andrew's initial score on the ACT was a 23. After working with Choice, he scored a 29! He even received a 34 on his reading comprehension subtest. He completely attributes this to Amish teaching him how to take that portion of the test. With a score of 29, any student would automatically receive a yearly $12000 scholarship to Baylor. He is now just a Junior so we are not sure that is where he will attend but it is a top choice. The money we spent at Choice will be worth the scholarship money we receive many times over. It was a great experience!

~ Gayle K, Episcopal High School

Both of my children began working with Amish at Choice Tutoring their sophomore year . They were tutored for the SAT and ACT. Both children brought their scores up considerably from where they were. Amish and his group of tutors are professional and work with these students to achieve their highest score. I would use them again. My daughter will be going to Amish to prepare for the GRE. I know this too will be successful.

~ Cynthia A, The Kinkaid School

I really like the tutoring because you are interacting with your tutor, and I don't feel dumb asking multiple questions. I have improved a ton on my reading comprehension.

~ Chris C, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory

Working with Choice Tutoring has increased my math grades significantly. They have great tutors who are willing to spend as much time as needed making sure that the topic is understood and perfected.

~ Katie S, The Kinkaid School

Choice Tutoring has been instrumental in my success as a student; their expertise in everything from standardized testing to everyday classes is what makes them so incredibly helpful.

~ Stuart D, St. John's School

With the tutors' help my SAT skills really improved and they were great at explaining everything. They weren't intimidating like some tutors are, and they made it fun and easy to learn things that aren't normally fun.

~ Madison L, Memorial High School

Choice Tutoring is a very welcoming place. The tutors are billiant and are a huge help to me and my school work.

~ Catherine C, Episcopal High School

The tutors are very knowledgeable, thorough, and patient, and will work with you until you understand.

Our son began working with Amish (Choice Tutoring) just before his junior year to prepare for the ACT and SAT. Through weekly sessions and outstanding comprehensive guidance from Amish, our son was able to raise his ACT score from a 25 to a 30 - the magic number for him!! The academic support and nurturing that he received from Choice Tutoring was second to none. Additionally, our son discovered that Amish could help him with EVERY subject in school...what a bonus!! My husband and I felt such comfort knowing that our child was receiving the assistance he needed in order to successfully take that next educational step. Thank you, Amish and Choice Tutoring!!

~ Jan M, Memorial High School

Choice Tutoring has prepared my children to surpass expectations on standardized testing. Their tutor's insights and teaching strategies helped work them beyond their potential. I would highly recommend Choice Tutoring to others in the community.

~ Parent, The Kinkaid School

I have worked with tutors from Choice Tutoring for several years now, and I have been nothing but amazed by the company's determination to help its students succeed. This year, as a freshman in college many states away, I have been struggling to master statistics. After calling Amish and complaining to him, he told me about one of his amazing tutors who immediately contacted me to set up a skype appointment. After skyping with this tutor (at 11 pm Houston time), I felt confident that I would do well on my midterm, as he helped me to understand the material on a whole new level. Choice Tutoring is the best--without the hard working tutors at this company, I would be lost!

~ Julia S, The Kinkaid School

I had originally came to Choice Tutoring going into my junior year to work on the ACT/SAT. After months of review and practice with this subject, my test scores dramatically improved, opening new options for me to attend college. Soon after taking my ACT, I realized that it would be to my best benefit to keep working with the tutors at Choice Tutoring in my math and science subjects to keep my grades up. I never had a bad experience and always felt comfortable with all the tutors, and I am very glad that I had decided to use Choice Tutoring to help me with my studies and schoolwork.

~ Alex H, St. Thomas High School

My name is Joseph Roys and I am a former client of Choice Tutoring. I was applying to medical school and needed help studying for the MCAT. With the help of my tutors, Amish Shah and Amita Pathak, I was able to improve my score from getting a 15 on my first practice test to a 30 on the official MCAT! The tutors at Choice tutoring are all very helpful and accommodating and will work to make a personalized lesson program and schedule that works for you. They were able to pinpoint the areas where I needed help and provided tons of extra study material to give me plenty of practice on my own.

~ Joseph R, Wheaton College

Choice Tutoring tutors, Amish and Thomas, assisted our son in preparing for both the PSAT and the SAT exams, which he took in October and December of 2014. The tutoring was highly effective as we saw a steady and significant rise is our son's scores on the practice exams as the tutoring progressed, especially on the math part of these exams. Our son's test results were outstanding, including a perfect 800 on the math part of the SAT. He will likely qualify as a national merit finalist and be eligible for significant academic scholarships. But most important, he is now well-positioned to attend the college of his choice. We also noticed that during the course of the tutoring our son's grades in some of his high school courses improved, an unexpected side benefit. Although the cost was significant, we considered the hourly rates to be reasonable and it proved to be an invaluable investment. We are most grateful for the help that our son received from the tutors at Choice Tutoring and we highly recommend them.

~ Parents, DeBakey High School for Health Professions

Our experience with Erin at Choice Tutoring was wonderful! Our son was not truly on board with tutoring or test preparation. Erin was a perfect fit for Connor. She understood his personality, his strengths and weaknesses from the first meeting. He took his first practice test and scored an 18. After individual tutoring with Erin he received a 30 on his first formal ACT and a 32 on his 2nd attempt. She was willing to work with Connor's busy athletic schedule and was willing to put in extra time prior to the testing dates. We would highly recommend Erin and Choice Tutoring. We will without question send our younger children there.

Organizational Skills

Organizational skills and effective time management is essential for both academic and long-term professional success.

Students today try to do it all ‐ juggling homework, exams, sports, extracurricular activities, community service, friends, family, and technology. It can become overwhelming, and consequently, their schoolwork may start to suffer. Often, the student may not know how to use their time efficiently, how to be organized, what to study, or even how to study effectively. Students are not taught how to do this in school and are expected to pick it up on their own.  Choice Tutoring can teach a student organizational skills, time management, and how to to study effectively, which are all key to the student’s long term success.
